When you listen
To send you the sound, the server necessarily uses your IP address while you are connected. The radio does not record it: it only keeps it in memory to cap the connections open from one address (for an IPv6 address, only its network part counts), and forgets it a few minutes at most after your last connection.
While you listen, it only keeps in memory, without writing it anywhere: when you connected, the kind of player inferred from your browser (such as “Firefox” or “VLC”), the kind of device (phone or tablet, computer, or not told) and how much sound you received. The kind of device comes from the same information your browser sends; neither the model nor the system version is kept. This is used to cap simultaneous listeners and to follow the broadcast live.
When you stop, your session is not kept as such: it is added to a counter per quarter of an hour, kind of player and kind of device (number of sessions and total length). Reconnecting within 30 seconds (a network switch, a reloaded page) counts as the same session. These counters hold no IP address and no identifier, and cannot tell one of your sessions from another listener’s.
Statistics
The radio counts connected listeners every 10 seconds and only keeps totals per 5 minutes. Together with the session counters above, these totals make up the publisher’s statistics: daily audience, listening hours, players and devices used. They are deleted after a year.
The log of tracks played also notes, for each play, how many people were listening at that moment.
No external audience measurement tool is used, and nothing is sold, rented or passed on to third parties.
Hosting and server logs
The site and its API are hosted by the host named in the legal notice. Like any web server, its infrastructure may keep technical logs (IP address, date, requested address) for security and to keep the service running, under its own policy.
Audio files are kept in private storage that holds no data about listeners.
Admin area
The admin area is for the publisher only. Signing in goes through an identity server (Keycloak) run by the publisher, which sets its own session cookies at sign-in. Visitors of the public site are not concerned.
If you write
Your message and e-mail address are used only to reply to you. They are not kept longer than the exchange needs.
Your rights
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives you the right to access, correct, erase, restrict and object to the processing of data about you. Since the radio keeps nothing that identifies you, it generally holds no data it could link to you. For any request: contact@nymene.xyz
You can also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL: cnil.fr.
